NatWest Cushon proudly took home the awards for Best Financial Wellbeing Provider at the Corporate Adviser awards and Best Investment Strategy at the European pensions awards last week.

European Pensions Awards - Best Investment Strategy

We are thrilled to have been recognised and commended by European Pensions for our market leading investment strategy and decarbonisation plan.

The judges said:

This entry showcased passion and excellence when it comes to delivering effective and relevant investment solutions for the pensions space.

The Cushon Sustainable Investment Strategy is based on improving member outcomes, which requires a move from a focus on cost towards a focus on value for members and for employers. At its heart is climate risk mitigation and our use of impact strategies - both climate and social.

Corporate Adviser Awards - Best Financial Wellbeing Provider

NatWest Cushon’s aim has always been to ensure that we provide our members with impactful and meaningful financial wellbeing products and services.

Pensions have long suffered from a severe lack of engagement – a huge number of members don’t know how much they pay into their pension or what their money is invested in. Our research shows that by 35-years-old, a third of savers (28%) lose track of at least one of their pension pots because they’re not engaged. Meanwhile, two in five (41%) older workers don’t know how much they have saved for retirement.

Engagement with pensions is key to driving financial wellbeing. We do this by empowering savers to take control of their finances through engaging climate-conscious pensions, saving products, our intuitive market leading app, and other financial education initiatives.

This award is a testament to the hard work and passion of our team, who strive every day to make financial wellbeing accessible and impactful for all.

Most of us have that nagging feeling that we should be doing more. Knowing the right things to do for the sake of our long-term financial wellbeing is one thing, doing it is another.

Winning at fintech

Fintech has become synonymous with brilliant, new and engaging financial products and concepts. The term has only, and could only have, existed after the start of the twenty-first century since the internet became not only a ‘nice to have’ but an essential part of daily life. But if the ‘tech’ in fintech is to serve its purpose, it needs to be user friendly to drive engagement and use.

Could robo-guidance engage employees?

Let’s face it robo-advice exists because face to face advice is expensive and the majority of the population won’t pay for it. Generally people won’t pay for goods or services that either have no perceived value or the cost exceeds the perceived value. In the financial services industry, I would argue the issue is the former; the majority of people perceive that they simply don’t need advice.
